Carrie-Anne Moss

CarrieCarrie-Anne Moss, born August 21, 1967, is a Canadian actor from Canada. In the early days of her television career was her breakthrough role, she gained acclaim for her part in The Matrix series (1999 to the present). She has been featured in Memento (2000) in which she received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female. She also appeared in Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she was awarded the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actor in a supporting role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) as well as Pompeii (2014). Jessica Jones (2015), 2015-2019) and Unthinkable (2010) was among her television roles. Moss was a resident in Spain at the time, was given the role as Tara Marshall, the clerk to the Judge Nicholas Marshall, in Dark Justice. It was her first TV appearance. In 1992, she relocated with the series from Barcelona to Los Angeles. Moss was forced out of Dark Justice after the third and last season. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena when she returned, and then she was a part of Fox's primetime soap opera Models Inc., a spin-off of Melrose Place, as a model. The show was cut in July 1995. She headlined a short-lived made-in-Canada series entitled Matrix. The majority of the 1990s, she was a part of in numerous television shows like Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she received a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest actor in the Drama. Her film credits included numerous B movies including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
