Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco, an American-Canadian singer and songwriter. She has produced over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco classifies her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it contains influences such as hip-hop, punk and jazz. A feminist icon widely recognized as Grammy winner Ani DiFranco was the founder of the DIY movement being one of the first musicians to launch her own label the year 1990. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had made acquaintance while studying at an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father had Italian ancestry and her mom was born in Montreal. Ani Difrasco wrote and sang the song "32 Flavors". The song debuted in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. One version of this song can be heard on the film Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was announced that she was planning to hold an event for three days at a Louisiana plantation for slaves. The majority of us (including us) were not impressed by her decision. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days later. Little Folksinger is a musician who has collaborated with artists ranging from Pete Seeger, Chuck D and Prince. New Orleans is her home. Ani has the name Kristen Ford. The first song she wrote was at the age of 14. They were performed in bars and coffee shops throughout her teens. DiFranco was a student at Buffalo State College after graduating aged 16 from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. The baritone of Ani is a custom Alvarez guitar that was made following several consultations with Chrys who was an Alvarez representative of the artist at the time. This guitar is built of solid wood, with a cedar top and mahogany sides. The guitar also comes with an System 600 Preamp. Her residence is New Orleans. There she lives with husband, children and her long-legged pet Lefty. DiFranco admits she's ambivalent to the thought to look at her work retrospectively, even though it's been over three years. Ani DiFranco was a pop/punk singer and songwriter when she was the age of 25 when her album Not A Pretty Girl hit the charts. Dilate, released in 1996, gained even more popularity among the people who love. The song, a pop rock hit from 1972 (You're a fine girl) was composed by American band Looking Glass for their debut album Looking Glass. Elliot Lurie wrote the song.
