Ina Gardner is writer of many popular American cooking books. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. It has been running since 2002. Ina Garten started her professional career at the White House where she wrote the nuclear energy policy as well as budget reports. While she initially found the work intellectually stimulating she eventually lost interest. So she purchased the Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food store. She spent eighteen years making the shop extremely popular before letting it go before acquiring a pen to begin writing her first book. Several other books and newspaper articles were published. Meanwhile, her Food Network show was also a success. In addition, she sells everything from equipment to cooking tools and storage containers. Ina she is a self-taught cook, has never studied at the culinary institute or at a hotel. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her straightforward cooking style is well-known. She is known for her easy recipes like Skillet Baked Lemon Chicken Macaroni and Cheese with Beef Bourguignon and Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
